The Hilti Group’s strategy calls for Corporate Social Responsibility to be overseen by the Hilti Foundation supporting projects at the global level and by the local Hilti Group market organizations realizing projects at a local level.

The Hilti Foundation supports projects and institutions around the world that make a sustainable contribution to societal development. To improve the quality of life for as many people as possible over a long-term period and to offer effective solutions, the Hilti Foundation follows a strategy with clearly defined areas of focus and a common approach with the local Hilti Group market organizations.

The Hilti Foundation supports other organizations by providing finance as well as entrepreneurial and product-relevant know-how and social expertise.

Principles

We accomplish our mission by observing the following principles:

1
Six areas of focus

We concentrate on the areas of affordable housing, community development, culture, disaster relief, education and social entrepreneurship.

2
Dialogue and teamwork

Projects are implemented through an open, honest and constructive dialogue between the Hilti Foundation, local organizations and partner institutions.

3
Selected partnerships

To correctly analyze the needs of the poorest people and to develop suitable solutions, we work together with various organizations and networks. Our partners are subject to strict scrutiny. The main factors for deciding whether to enter into cooperation are matching objectives as well as performance and efficiency criteria.

4
Holistic and long-term solutions

We support innovative ideas that can be replicated and contribute to solving social problems on a long-term basis.

5
Financial, intellectual and social commitment

We not only support organizations with financial resources, but also participate by providing entrepreneurial and product-relevant know-how and social expertise (e.g. establishing contacts with significant networks and institutions).

6
Efficiency assessment

Together with our partners, it is our goal to develop standards allowing for long-term, transparent and comparative efficiency assessments.
