Engaged Beyond Business

OneAgape

New perspectives through sport

OneAgape is committed to improving living conditions by opening up new opportunities for people through sport, education, and entrepreneurship. The program sustainably strengthens communities and supports individual development opportunities.

The project

OneAgape – Sport & Education is a non-profit organization based in Liechtenstein that creates sustainable prospects for people in Nigeria. The initiative grew out of the friendship between Philip Obhafuoso and Andreas Gerster, who played together at FC Vaduz. After Philip was forced to end his football career due to injury and was left without training, he realized how difficult it is to find a new career in Nigeria. Poverty, corruption, and a poor education system make access to new opportunities difficult.

This experience gave rise to the idea of combining sport and education in development projects. Today, OneAgape uses Philip's network in Kaduna to implement sustainable programs that offer people new prospects.

Football & Life Skills

OneAgape connects people through football and teaches fundamental values. In addition to daily training sessions, topics such as nutrition, social behavior, the environment, and violence prevention are also a focus.

Education

Since 2015, OneAgape has been funding school fees for children and specifically supporting vocational training. For example, Peter, a sponsored participant, successfully completed his studies in environmental technology and renewable energy. He will soon head the OneAgape Education Center.

Startups

OneAgape provides start-up capital, but not in the form of repayable microloans. Instead, sponsored participants are expected to share their knowledge and train others – thus creating a virtuous circle that strengthens sustainable economic structures.

Facts & Figures

The OneAgape Education Center trains 80 youths per year in solar technology and sustainable agriculture. The program is almost entirely funded by Hilti AG, enabling high‑quality vocational training for disadvantaged young people. With the new digital learning tool, the reach will expand significantly, allowing many more youths across Nigeria to benefit from the program. Hilti employees donated CHF 25,000 in 2025.

Support for the OneAgape Education Center (OAEC)

Donations enable the construction of the OneAgape Education Center (OAEC), which serves as a learning and innovation center for solar technology and sustainable agriculture. Here, specialists are trained to establish renewable energy solutions and resource-efficient farming methods in the region.

As a central component of the OneAgape Area (OAA), the OAEC will not only impart knowledge but also create a platform for exchange and collaborative learning. It aims to foster long-term economic opportunities, strengthen communities, and empower people to shape their own futures.
