Solidarity through volunteering

As part of the Hilti corporate volunteering program “Engaged Beyond Business”, our colleagues get involved in social and environmental initiatives that go beyond their daily work. All over the world, numerous local projects are underway, led by the respective Hilti organizations. In addition, the Hilti Foundation offers some international initiatives. One of them is “Building Houses” in which members of a Hilti team build houses for families in precarious housing situations. In celebration of the International Volunteer Day in early December, we have created a short review.

About Engaged Beyond Business

Engaged Beyond Business is Hilti’s corporate volunteering program, launched together with the Hilti Foundation. Globally, all Hilti team members are encouraged and provided with the necessary support to invest time and money in social and environmental projects.

EBB activities consist of local programs and initiatives run by the respective Hilti organization, as well as international programs funded and managed by the Hilti Foundation.

Local EBB initiatives

Volunteering at Hilti can be as diverse as its teams themselves: There are a variety of programs that cater to all types of engagement, from hands-on work to skills-based deployment. These initiatives focus on projects in communities where Hilti team members live and work. Therefore, each region has its digital EBB community platform that provides easy access to volunteering opportunities, inspiration through global exchange, and information about social impact at Hilti. Get an overview of the local initiatives.

International EBB initiatives run by the Hilti Foundation

In addition to the local EBB initiatives, the Hilti Foundation has partnered with selected organizations to offer Hilti team members the opportunity to participate in international projects. The “Building Houses” program enables Hilti employees to help families in precarious housing situations with no possibility of improving their living conditions in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Romania and, from 2023, also in the Philippines. In addition, Hilti team members are invited to engage by:

  • sharing their skills and knowledge with Hilti Foundation initiatives (Brainpool).

  • providing loans to borrowers from underserved communities, making an important contribution to expanding their financial accesses (Kiva).

  • investing time and resources, to learn how to embrace change, manage uncertainty, develop responsible solutions and create social enterprises in the Global South (Bookbridge).

Get to know more about the international initiatives.

We want to thank you for your engagement!
