Worlds of Technology
Technology and industry generate a large share of Liechtenstein’s economic value. At the same time, artificial intelligence, robotics and digital systems are increasingly shaping everyday life, companies and society. The ability to understand, assess and help shape technology is therefore becoming essential for participation and responsible decision-making.
The Hilti Foundation strengthens a culture in which children encounter technology early, families and teachers encourage curiosity, and young people can develop their interests into knowledge, skills and educational pathways. We connect accessible experiences with strong institutions in education, research and industry.
Our engagement follows a continuous path: inspiring curiosity, developing capabilities and enabling people to use technology responsibly and effectively.
Explore Our Key Initiatives
Hilti Innovation Hub at the University of Liechtenstein
Starting in 2027, the Hilti Innovation Hub will strengthen teaching, research and knowledge transfer in Technology and Innovation, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and Information Systems and Digital Innovation.
The Hub connects academic expertise with practical challenges and regional partners, creating opportunities for students, researchers and companies while strengthening the university’s academic foundation.
Advancing Robotics at ETH Zurich
Through its partnership with ETH Zurich, the Hilti Foundation supports two chairs that advance robotics research and connect scientific excellence with practical application.
The partnership strengthens an international research environment and promotes exchange between researchers, students and industry, providing access to new knowledge, talent and technological developments.
Connecting Research and Industry with RhySearch
New technologies create value when research expertise is connected with concrete industrial challenges. Together with RhySearch and academic and industrial partners, the Hilti Foundation supports doctoral research in fields relevant to advanced manufacturing and engineering.
Current projects explore simulation and artificial intelligence in areas including measurement technology and forming processes. They strengthen knowledge transfer, develop specialised talent and build lasting connections between research and industry in the region.
Sparking Curiosity with SpaceBuzz
Positive encounters can change how people see technology and the role it can play in their lives. SpaceBuzz Liechtenstein invites school classes, children, families and the wider public to experience a virtual journey into space and discover the science, technology and regional expertise behind it.
