Sri Lanka has been pushed to its limits more than once in recent history. In 2004, the devastating tsunami struck a country already grappling with deep economic, political and social pressures. What started at the time as a donation from the Hilti family and the Hilti Group has since grown into a meaningful Engaged Beyond Business (EBB) initiative: sustained support for the vocational training center established in Monaragala.

A war like the one in Ukraine impacts far more than the front lines. While fighting continues, civilians endure hardship on many other levels. To support those affected, both the Hilti Foundation and Hilti employees contribute to Doctors Without Borders and to a range of projects aimed at easing the many forms of suffering experienced by people on the ground.

Underwater archaeologist Franck Goddio visited the Hilti Headquarters to share the newest findings from his team’s explorations off Egypt’s coast. His update highlighted a year of remarkable discoveries - including the uncovering of a well‑preserved ancient pleasure barge in Alexandria - offering fascinating insights into life and ritual in early Roman Egypt.

A special visit to the supergut CAMP brought together the Hereditary Couple of Liechtenstein and members of the Hilti / Frey-Hilti family for an inspiring exchange centered on biodiversity and learning in nature. Exploring the CAMP’s immersive learning environment, guests discovered different stations and engaged in thoughtful conversations about the importance of experiencing nature firsthand. The personal dialogue was a meaningful affirmation of our work and of the shared vision to reimagine how biodiversity is understood and valued in Liechtenstein.
